How to pay for OnlyFans: cards, wallet credits, PayPal, gift cards and your bank statement

People search "OnlyFans gift card", "can you use PayPal on OnlyFans" and "what does OnlyFans show up as on a bank statement" every day. A lot of the answers online are guesses, or are written by someone selling a card. So I went to the source: the current OnlyFans Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, read on 21 October 2026. Below is what they say, what they don't say, and what that means for you as a fan.

This is a plain-English reading of public documents, not legal or financial advice. OnlyFans can change its payment options at any time, so check the checkout screen and the terms before you rely on anything here.

Short answer

1. Payment cards are the method the terms describe

To subscribe, the terms say users "must add payment information to their account and then click 'Subscribe'". That payment information is passed to "a third-party payment provider", which takes "periodic payments" for subscriptions and "immediate payments" for everything else, such as tips and paid messages.

Elsewhere the terms keep talking about your "payment card" and your "payment card provider", for example when they describe chargebacks. The privacy policy lists, under data held for fans, "payment card details", a "billing address" and "funds added to your wallet". So in practice, plan on paying with a card.

What about debit and prepaid cards? The documents say "payment card" and don't split it into credit, debit or prepaid. Whether a particular card goes through depends on the payment provider and on your card issuer, and the terms don't promise that any specific card type will work. If a card is declined and you have no other card on file, renewal stops. The terms list "your payment is declined and you have not provided another payment" as one of the things that end auto-renew.

2. What OnlyFans actually stores about your card

This is the part most people worry about, and the privacy policy is fairly specific. It says payments "are processed by our third-party payment providers" and that OnlyFans does "not receive your full payment card number, payment card expiration date, or the security code."

Instead, the payment provider gives OnlyFans "a 'token' that represents your account, your payment card's expiration date, payment card type and the first six and last four digits of your payment card number." The full number stays with the payment provider, but OnlyFans does keep enough to recognise the card, along with your billing address.

3. Wallet Credits: prepaying on the site

The terms also allow you to "prepay an amount on OnlyFans ('Wallet Credits') which you can later use for Fan Payments." Before you top up, three rules matter:

So top up only what you expect to spend. Wallet Credits are also funded from your card, so they don't keep a card out of the picture.

4. PayPal, gift cards, Apple Pay and crypto

None of these appear in the terms or the privacy policy as ways for fans to pay. The only e-wallet the terms mention is on the creator side: creators may pay "e-wallet provider charges" when they withdraw earnings, which says nothing about how fans pay.

That has a practical consequence. If someone sells you an "OnlyFans gift card" or code, it isn't something the OnlyFans terms recognise. OnlyFans' own prepaid balance is Wallet Credits, bought on the site. A third-party code sold elsewhere is, at best, a general prepaid card you'd still have to add as a payment card, and at worst a scam. We cover the common versions in OnlyFans scams: the 7 most common ones.

5. What shows up on your bank statement

Neither document names the billing descriptor. If privacy is the reason you're asking, look at a real transaction in your banking app after your first payment instead of trusting a forum post. If you don't recognise a charge at all, treat it as a possible compromised card and talk to your bank. The terms also say OnlyFans isn't responsible for unauthorised payments made from a compromised account, so protecting your login matters as much as your card. Our safety guide has the basics.

6. What you'll actually pay

All prices "appear, and are charged, in USD." Fan payments are "exclusive of Indirect Sales Tax", which is added at the rate that applies where you live, and "payment providers may charge currency conversion fees." So the price on a creator's page is not always the final number on your statement, especially outside the US.

For a sense of scale, look at our snapshot of 5,643 public creator pages taken on 20 October 2026. 34.3% (1,934 pages) were free to follow. Among the 3,709 paid pages, the median monthly price was $10, the middle half sat between $8 and $15, and only 5.6% charged $30 or more. Full breakdowns are on OnlyFans subscription prices. If you'd rather not add a card yet, start with the free OnlyFans accounts, or browse the cheapest paid pages.

Before you add a card

  1. Pay only on onlyfans.com itself. Never pay a creator through a link or "verification" page elsewhere.
  2. Decide whether you want auto-renew. If not, switch it off on the creator's page right after subscribing. Here's how cancelling works.
  3. Top up Wallet Credits only for what you'll spend, since they can't be refunded.
  4. Expect USD pricing plus tax, and possibly a conversion fee.
  5. Don't file a chargeback as a shortcut. The terms say bad-faith refund or chargeback requests can get your account suspended or deleted. See OnlyFans refunds.

FAQ

Can you use PayPal on OnlyFans? The OnlyFans terms and privacy policy don't list PayPal as a way for fans to pay. Payment is described as a payment card added to your account, or Wallet Credits bought with that card.

Is there an official OnlyFans gift card? The terms don't describe gift cards. OnlyFans' own prepaid option is Wallet Credits, bought on the site and non-refundable. Be careful with anyone selling "OnlyFans gift cards" elsewhere.

Does OnlyFans store my card number? According to the privacy policy, no, not the full number. The payment provider keeps the card and gives OnlyFans a token plus the card type, expiry date, and the first six and last four digits.

What does OnlyFans show up as on a bank statement? Neither the terms nor the privacy policy says. Check the transaction in your own banking app after your first payment.

Why is OnlyFans more expensive than the listed price? Prices are in USD and don't include sales tax, which is added where it applies. Your card provider may also charge a currency conversion fee.

Can I pay without a card? Not according to the terms as written. Even Wallet Credits are paid for with your card.
