How to cancel an OnlyFans subscription (and when to delete your account instead)
"How to delete OnlyFans account" and "how to cancel OnlyFans subscription" are searched thousands of times a month, often by people who mean slightly different things. There are really two separate actions, and they do different things:
- Cancelling a subscription stops future charges for one creator. Your account stays.
- Deleting your account ends everything: every subscription, your access, and your history.
I read the current OnlyFans Terms of Service to pin down exactly what each one does. This is a plain-English reading of public terms, not legal advice, and the terms themselves say your rights can depend on where you live.
Option 1: stop paying one creator (switch off Auto-Renew)
The terms say a subscription "will automatically renew for additional periods of the same duration unless you cancel it." The control for that lives on each creator's page: renewal stops if "you switched off the 'Auto-Renew' feature on the Creator's account."
What happens after you switch it off, per the terms:
- You keep access until the period ends. You "can view the relevant Creator's Content until the end of the subscription period in which you cancelled".
- Then the charges stop. After that, "no further payments will be taken from you in respect of subscriptions to that Creator's profile (unless you begin a new Subscription)".
- There is no reminder before a renewal. By clicking Subscribe you "acknowledge that you will not receive further Notice regarding the renewal". If you don't want the next charge, switch Auto-Renew off yourself; don't wait for an email.
Two other things also stop a renewal automatically: a price increase by the creator (you are not silently moved to the higher price) and a declined payment with no backup card.
Tip: you can switch Auto-Renew off the same day you subscribe. You still get the full period you paid for, and you then decide deliberately whether to renew.
Option 2: delete your OnlyFans account
The terms say: "You may delete your OnlyFans account in the 'User Account' section of your OnlyFans account."
For a fan account, the terms promise three things:
- OnlyFans "will delete your account within a reasonable time".
- It "will not charge any further Subscriptions".
- "After we delete your account, you will not have access to your former account or any Content."
That last point is the big difference from cancelling. Cancelling one subscription lets you finish the month you paid for. Deleting the account ends access to all of it, including time you have already paid for on other creators.
For a creator account it works differently: the account "will remain open until all active Fan Subscriptions expire", then OnlyFans pays unpaid earnings and deletes it. Deleting also "will not automatically delete Co-Authored Content posted by another Creator."
After deletion, OnlyFans "may deal with your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy", so deleting the account is not the same as every record disappearing at once.
Which one should you pick?
| You want to... | Do this |
|---|---|
| Stop paying one creator but finish the month | Switch off Auto-Renew on that creator |
| Stop all future charges but keep the account | Switch off Auto-Renew on every active subscription |
| Leave OnlyFans entirely | Delete the account in 'User Account' |
| Stop a charge you never made | Secure the account first (new password, two-step verification), then contact your card provider; see OnlyFans scams |
Checklist before you delete
- Use up or write off Wallet Credits. The terms say you are "not entitled to a refund of any unused Wallet Credits".
- Don't delete to get a refund. Deletion stops future charges; it doesn't refund past ones. Our OnlyFans refund guide covers what the terms say there.
- Save anything you need (receipts for your own records, creators you want to find again). Once the account is gone you lose access to it.
- Think about whether you just want fewer charges. Many people delete because a few subscriptions added up. Across 5,643 public OnlyFans pages we checked on 20 October 2026, 34.3% were free and the paid median was $10 a month, so three typical paid subscriptions cost about $360 a year. Our yearly cost calculator shows your own total, and the free pages list is an option if you want to keep following people without paying.
Quick answers
Does cancelling an OnlyFans subscription give a refund? No. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and no further payments are taken for that creator.
Will deleting my account stop all charges? Per the terms, OnlyFans "will not charge any further Subscriptions" once a fan account is deleted.
Do I lose access right away when I delete my account? The terms say you won't have access to your former account or any content after deletion, so treat deletion as ending access to everything, including paid time left on other subscriptions.
Does OnlyFans warn me before a subscription renews? No. The terms say you will not receive further notice about renewals.
What if the creator raises their price? Your subscription does not auto-renew at the new price; renewal stops.
